9th Class Biology – Short Questions & Answers
Cellular respiration and photosynthesis are complementary processes. Photosynthesis converts light energy into chemical energy (glucose), while cellular respiration breaks down glucose to produce ATP, the usable form of energy in cells. The byproducts of photosynthesis (oxygen and glucose) are the reactants in cellular respiration, and the byproducts of cellular respiration (carbon dioxide and water) are the reactants in photosynthesis.
